That’s the conclusion of a July 2018 report from Capgemini Digital Transformation Institute and MIT Sloan School of Management, which surveyed more than 1,300 executives in over 750 global organizations. On May 27 the GDPR/DSGVO took complete effect and our websites will never be the same. The law came into effect all the way back in 2016, but we were given a two-year grace period to bring our websites up to standard. For many people the law came from nowhere and compliance was left to the last minute – which was sort of like leaving a homework assignment from 10th grade until the bus ride into school the morning you are going to graduate from high school. :o) Read more
Elysium, In Time, Upside Down – some of the many dystopian stories where a small segment of society with access to the best tech (and quality of life) pits itself against the rest (of us) who are relying on outdated tech (and probably living in ghettos). We probably notice the cool tech more than we do the growing similarity between fiction and reality. When we think of the 1%, we probably think of those holding the most money. The reality going forward is that the 1% will be holding the best tech (okay and still the most money). Read more

We were reviewing what to keep and what to throw out of a website. The client wanted a real spring cleaning, and they wanted something new – something fresh. The problem with “New” is that it soon becomes “Old”. As they say: “There is really nothing wrong with a bologna sandwich.” Read more
We may think of Mobile First and Responsive Design being in answer to a mostly mobile phone accessed internet. However, Samsung just unwrapped its new 3400 pixel monitor and kids are accessing the internet more and more from their game consoles. We were asked in January to give a talk to a class of students who had spent the term studying Cultural Diversity. While you won’t be able to enjoy the excitement of actually being there – touching a old ‘brick’ mobile phone or marvelling at the super presentation graphics – the subject of Digital Culture is interesting enough that we thought we should share the talking points as this month’s blog post.
